Bio

It’s so wonderful to meet you all! I’ve been circling around the thought of participating in the WFLC course for upwards of 15 years, and am deeply happy to be here. I live in Prince Edward Island, Canada’s smallest province.

My life in a nutshell? I moved to Canada at three years old, grew up in my family’s natural food store, moved around a lot, and then my folks built our own house. I drowned when I was nine and came back sans my fear of death – it’s living that can get scary! My post secondary education is in Fine Arts, Dance; I spent a short time as a professional ballerina and then my body made me stop. I studied pattern drafting and became a seamstress, got married, built a three-story addition to my house, homeschooled my two girls, supervised their Funny Farm (chickens, ducks, geese, quail, a goat, two horses, three fish tanks, a parrot, a dog, two cats, and a blind hedgehog!), and am currently a single empty-nester with a few remaining chickens and a cat. And lots of plants. Lots.

I worked for a non-profit summer theatre for the past more than a decade as Box Office manager and props and costumes designer, and work on the executive and as teacher with our non-profit social dance studio for adults in the winters. This past summer I turned in a new direction, working in a greenhouse – it’s so lovely, essentially like being paid for a mental health retreat

Along the way I discovered that I am an HSP, which made so much sense out of a lifetime of confusions. Having “permission” for slow, quiet time to allow for depth of processing is indescribable.

The common thread throughout my life has been people telling me that I “allow them to be themselves” and I can’t think of a compliment that would make me feel better than that. I’m excited to be exploring the Wayfinders’ path to facilitating more people being their true selves, and happy to be on this journey with all of you!
