Bio | This is a very different “bio” from the ones I usually use 🙂 I am Wibke, 52, and currently live in Berlin with my husband and our 10 year old son. Two things I am grateful for every single day: being the mum of this wonderful boy and that we are all safe and well. I have spent most of my professional life working on peace and conflict issues in one way or another, with academia, NGOs, the United Nations, with UN peacekeeping operations and organizations in Germany. This is where passion took me and I have felt privileged to be able to work in an area that is so important to me. My academic background is in political science (MA & PhD) and peace studies (MA). My most recent duty station was Khartoum where I moved with the family in 2021. I had lived and worked there previously and loved coming back to support Sudan’s democratic transition following the revolution. We were all in Khartoum when the war broke out in April 2023. This continues to be a huge heartache. The past 2,5 years have been turbulent in many ways. Transitioning to Berlin, trying to help others affected by the war, working out of Kenya for a while, a lot of letting go and personal change and much thinking about what it is that truly matters to me and in this rapidly changing world. It is during this time that I discovered the work of Martha Beck and the Wayfinder Life Coach Training. I recently resigned from my permanent job (in an organisation that I have helped build up and held various positions for the past 20 years) and in July, started my own consultancy – at a time where my area of work is marked by huge pressures, disruption and uncertainty. My focus is on prevention, peacebuilding and protection in crisis settings. I would love to expand this work and am looking forward to where the Wayfinder journey will take me. I love nature and art and am by far not spending enough time on either. |
